Certified Internal Auditor

Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University is the first school in Asia that received the support in Internal Auditing Education (IIA's Internal Auditing Education Partnership, IAEP) from the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), USA.

The economic crisis in the past showed that the lack of good internal controls could cause financial problems causing many companies to go bankrupt. Therefore, both government and private sectors in Thailand encourage corporations to set up effective internal control and auditing such as the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET). SET's policy requires all the listed companies to have auditing committees as well as the institutions that support corporate governance.

The key position that leads to an effective internal control and auditing is the internal auditor. It is generally known that internal auditors play an important part in developing and improving any corporate functions to help the corporations achieve their missions effectively and efficiently. Producing skillful internal auditors requires an educational and training system that improves knowledge and skills that are essential for the profession.

Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University realizes the importance of internal auditors who are in shortage to serve business corporations. Thus, the school has trained students on internal auditing to help them obtain professional knowledge and skills in order to become Certificated Internal Auditors.
