Alumni who succeed in business

คุณเลอศักดิ์ จุลเทศ "Even though I am not careful in which an accountant should be, all the time I studied at Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University, I deem it as the most important moment in my life. It is not because of good grades, but because of my belief in “Friendism” ideology. My impression on the faculty is that I was inherited knowledge, experiences, Thai tradition about respecting elders and seniors and taking care of juniors and I also found true friends. Therefore, I can use them to be successful in my profession and my life and also contribute to society and economy as an alumnus of the honorable university should do."

I still remember the arch under a samanea saman behind Mahitalatibetr Building where I always clang to. It is full of love and bond of my group. I cherish those times. คุณเลอศักดิ์ จุลเทศ

"When I took the entrance exam, I was confident I would study accountancy. I was not shaken by the fact that almost all of my classmates chose to study medicine or engineering.  I feel that I chose the right path. Every step can be explained and decided rationally. Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy give me knowledge and confidence in working and continuing my study. Furthermore, there are various friends who always help and share. There are teachers who are honest, kind and dedicated. After I graduated, all knowledge I have gained made me the first in my batch to pass CPA at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Furthermore, from my experience talking with customers, graduates from the faculty are widely accepted and trusted. Later I was persuaded to join a project finance team of a dam project in Laos. These experiences are crucial in applying for MBA at Stanford University which value variety of students.
Moreover, what make me different are activities which I can choose freely. The faculty provided many interesting activities, making me optimized the four years of studying. This is so beneficial after I graduated."
Ms. Piyanut Marittanaporn, MBA class of 2012, Stanford University

Due to the faculty’s reputation, I was confident in quality of teaching here. During the 4 years here, aside from academic knowledge, I also had a lot of experiences from being the faculty’s representative in business plan contests or being an exchange student at Stern School of Business, New York University, United State. All knowledge and experiences can apply in my work at Standard Chartered Bank and Krung Thai Bank. They also helped me in applying for Master’s degree in a leading university. I am very proud to have studied at Faculty of Commerce and Accountancy, Chulalongkorn University."

rata "Many people asked me why I studied accountancy since I hated math. In retrospect, when I took the entrance exam, I did not care if I had to do math, but I thought accounting was business database. If we understand accounting, we will know history of the business and plan for the future. When I graduated, I realized that accounting was not just that because the faculty did not teach only academic. The faculty’s students, of course, have to be academically competent, but teachers here are also good advisors in studying, working or even private matters. They always encourage us to develop ourselves. Furthermore, the faculty teaches students to be valuable people for society. When I was here, I had a chance to do various activities such as student association or CBA so I understand that happiness from work does not come from our success, but from the result of hard working for His Majesty the King and better society. In three years at KPMG and one year at Kellogg, my identity as the faculty’s student never fades. Self-development, organization development and society development are three principles that led me to this point. I am happy that math is not an obstacle in achieving these experiences."
